Stunning views of the City await at the Randall Museum in Corona Heights.
In a location as diverse as San Francisco, there’s much for young explorers to behold this season. The Randall Museum in Corona Heights leverages a longstanding private-public partnership between the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and the nonprofit organization Randall Museum Friends to provide novel experiences, from pine-needle basket weaving to scrapyard robotics, for Bay Area kids of all ages. The partnership allows Randall Museum to offer free admission as well as provide discounted science and arts classes and scholarships for highly sought-after summer camps.
While many museums offer discounted rates for youth on government assistance programs, Randall’s free admission policy is one reason that families visit on a regular basis. Last year, the museum saw over 100,000 visitors. Their free admission policy sets Randall Museum apart from other Bay Area children’s museums like the Exploratorium, the Discovery Museum in Marin or the California Academy of Sciences.
Marcus Wojtkowiak is the executive director of the Randall Museum.
