With the news that Billy Joel is cancelling all of his upcoming shows after his diagnosis with a brain disorder known as normal pressure hydrocephalus, fans may be wondering about what happens to their tickets.
Billy Joel, who had a record residency at Madison Square Garden for 10 years, had upcoming shows scheduled at the Yankee Stadium, Citi Field and MetLife Stadium in the New York area.
“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” said Billy Joel in a statement on his website, which also said that the performer is looking for forward to the day he take the stage once again.
How do you get Billy Joel ticket refund?
The Billy Joel official website promises: “You don’t need to take any action to receive your refund. It will be automatically processed back to the original payment used for the purchase.”
However, the website also said that the refund will go to the person who originally purchased the tickets. So if you purchased tickets from a third-party reseller, you should check with that company for it’s refund policy.
While Ticketmaster has yet to post any information on the Billy Joel cancellations, its policy on its website states: “If the event was canceled, we’ll process a refund.”
