MGM’s ‘Pink Panther’ Revival Casts Eddie Murphy as Inspector Clouseau

Variety said that Eddie Murphy is getting ready to use his magnifying glasses as Inspector Clouseau in the new version of Pink Panther that MGM is making.

Jeff Fowler, who made Sonic the Hedgehog, will be in charge of the new version of the old story. Chris Bremner will write the story, and Larry Mirisch and Julie Andrews will be producers, along with Rideback’s Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich.

The first movie in the famous comedy-mystery series The Pink Panther, came out in 1963. It was a comedy, and Peter Sellers played Inspector Jacques Clouseau.

Then, Sellers played the character again in the movies A Shot in the Dark (1964), The Return of the Pink Panther (1975), The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976), and Revenge of the Pink Panther (1978).

Alan Arkin, Roger Moore, and Steve Martin have also played the part.

The famous show is about Inspector Clouseau’s misadventures with a jewel called the Pink Panther. In the opening credits, a cartoon panther became so famous that he became the main character in many cartoons over the years.

The Hollywood Reporter said the new movie project would be a mix of live-action and computer-generated imagery (CG).

With the Inspector and Panther working together on the big screen for the first time, the plot sounds like a buddy cop movie. People who know about the idea also said it was still in the early stages of development.
