Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ stars Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi


From films like “The Shape of Water” and “Pan’s Labyrinth” to the anthology series “Cabinet of Curiosities,” director Guillermo del Toro is well known for his work with gothic fantasy monsters. This November 2025, he is once again adding to his ever-growing collection of harrowing tales with “Frankenstein,” starring Oscar Isaac as the titular doctor and Jacob Elordi as the iconic monster.

Netflix’s “Tudum” live-streamed event premiered the “Frankenstein” trailer, revealing a glimpse into Del Toro’s reimagining of the classic tale. 

Also showcased in “Tudum” were trailers and first looks into “Stranger Things” Season 5, “Squid Game” Season 3,” “One Piece,” “Wednesday” Season 2, “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,” and Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s “The Rip.”

The film’s logline reads, “Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.”

Joining Isaac and Elordi in the cast are Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, and Christian Convery. The film is written and directed by Del Toro.
