Tim McGraw had been making the media rounds and talking about it, and on Saturday he did it.
The country music star made his way back to the stage for the first time in almost a year. McGraw performed Saturday at the Music City Rodeo in Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
This comes after McGraw was forced last June to cancel the rest of his “Standing Room Only” tour to deal with health issues. And, as he prepared to make his return, he recently opened up about all that he was dealing with during an appearance on the “Tracy Lawrence’s Road House” podcast.
“To have almost a year of just sitting there (doing nothing), and I can tell you that after double knee replacements and three back surgeries and now a torn rotator cuff and a ruptured disc, there were times this year that I thought this might be it,” he said. “This might be time to hang it up.”
With that many injuries, McGraw said he has had to change things up in the gym and in life to be able to recover.
“I have to be very careful about what I do,” he said. “What I do do is everything is intentional. I can’t move quickly, there’s no turning real quick to do something. Everything has to be very intentional; everything that I do has to be very methodical. I have to do cold plunges. I have to do infrared saunas. I have to do massages.”
McGraw said it has also changed the way he does his show.
“It’s gonna come to a point to where I’m either gonna have to decide to change the way I do a live show to continue to do it or just not do it anymore,” he said.
McGraw already had issues with his feet, telling Entertainment Tonight Canada in 2023 that he “can’t run anymore because I’ve broken my foot so many times.”
