LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Do & Be Arts Academy of Excellence, a new no-cost independent charter school, is set to open its doors for the 2025-2026 school year in North Las Vegas. The academy, located at 5355 Madre Mesa Drive, is currently accepting enrollment for 222 students from kindergarten through eighth grade for its inaugural class.
Founder and Executive Director Shambrion Treadwell said the academy is “rooted in academic proficiency, visual and performing arts, social and emotional skills, and project-based learning.” The school aims to provide a rigorous arts integration academic curriculum, empowering students to use their creativity to arrive at innovative solutions.
The academy’s educational approach is built on three pillars: integrating art forms into traditional academic subjects, providing opportunities for students to express creativity and build confidence, and encouraging critical thinking and collaboration through project-based learning.
Parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children can submit applications online or attend informational sessions on June 9 or June 17 to learn more about the academy and tour the new school.
In support of its inaugural year, the academy is launching “Operation 222,” a fundraising initiative accepting monetary donations. Contributions can range from $2 for daily snacks to $2,222 for classroom sponsorships or professional development for teachers. Donations can be made online at www.doandbeartsacademy.org, where an Amazon Wish List is also available for those wishing to donate supplies.
Local artists are encouraged to contribute their time for workshops, programs, and mentorships throughout the school year.
