GlassRoots is taking its show on the road for GlassBall 2025—the nonprofit’s largest annual fundraiser on June 5! They will bring the magic of fire and glass from their studios in downtown Newark to the Montclair Art Museum.

For nearly 25 years, GlassRoots has empowered youth, adults, and diverse communities in Newark and beyond through the transformative power of glass art. This year’s GlassBall brings the mission to life in an evening filled with live demonstrations, inspiring stories, and one-of-a-kind creations.

GlassRoots’ Mobile Hot Shop

Guests will be welcomed at the Museum entrance by the dramatic glow of a live glassblowing demonstration, featuring GlassRoots’ talented studio artists and the Mobile Hot Shop, a fully functional portable glass furnace that brings the studio experience anywhere.

During cocktail hour, attendees will meet the next generation of artists and entrepreneurs: GlassRoots’ Youth Entrepreneurial Spirit (YES) participants. These creative teens will showcase and sell the unique jewelry, gifts, and glassware they’ve been designing over the past six months. It’s an opportunity to support young makers while taking home something truly special.

The evening will also honor individuals who embody the spirit of creativity, community, and impact:

  • Roger C. Tucker III, GlassRoots Board Chair (with a special presentation by acclaimed artist Willie Cole)
  • John Schreiber, CEO and President, New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC)
  • Robinson Holloway, Founder and CEO of Arts 14C
  • Andy Toxtle, Visual Arts Teacher, North Star Academy (Uncommon Schools), honored as this year’s Young Artist Honoree

GlassBall’s signature table centerpieces—original glass-blown vases created by GlassRoots artists—will be available via auction throughout the evening. Each vase will be filled with radiant, hand-crafted glass orbs. They will serve as a shimmering memento of the night.

Tickets and more information are now available on the GlassBall 2025 website.
