WEST PALM BEACH — Lights, camera, detour! The filming of a local car commercial is set to close several West Palm Beach roads Monday morning.
Volkswagen South Florida obtained a film permit for the commercial, and the road closures are a temporary safety measure to protect residents and members of the film crew, the city said Friday in a news release.
Partial closures will affect Okeechobee Boulevard from Interstate 95 to Rosemary Avenue, between 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday. The city is recommending that drivers use Australian Avenue to Banyan Boulevard to enter downtown West Palm Beach.
Drivers can also expect partial closures on Clematis Street, from Quadrille to Narcissus, between 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. “Traffic disruptions may occur during this period,” the city said.
“The City of West Palm Beach appreciates your understanding and patience during these temporary inconveniences,” Friday’s announcement continues. “We are committed to ensuring the success of creative endeavors that highlight our City’s unique charm and character.”
