New round of 5,000 USD grants available for visual artists. Applications open to early career visual artists worldwide.

The Liu Shiming Art Foundation is now accepting applications for a new round of Liu Shiming Artist Grants for visual artists during the first decade of their careers. Up to five grants of 5,000 USD each will support the creation or completion of new projects. 

Last year’s recipients included artists working in a wide range of media and art forms—from ceramic sculpture to architectural installations to textile, paint, and even onion skin. Applications came from more than 80 countries, representing virtually every corner of the globe. While the work proposed varied tremendously, the creativity and commitment to art was inspiring!

Visual artists who have been working for at least two years (but not more than 10 years) are invited to apply for a grant via the Foundation’s website.

Applications must be submitted by August 31, 2025; there is no application fee. Successful applicants will be notified by December 2, 2025.
