Women’s Tennis Ends First Day of Auburn Fall Invite

AUBURN, Ala. – Ole Miss women’s tennis plays well for the first day of the Auburn Fall Invite. The five Rebels grabbed two singles wins and a doubles win on Day One.

In Auburn, the day got started in the afternoon with doubles action. Lucie Devier and Emma Kette paired up for the first time and defeated Holly Staff and Valeria Ray from Vanderbilt, 7-5. Ole Miss has seen much success in doubles against their SEC foe, dating back to their two doubles victories at the June Stewart Invitational.

Rachel Krzyzak and Reka Zadori remain on fire in singles, each grabbing a singles win on Friday. Krzyzak’s straight-set victory over Alabama’s Priya Nelson makes three wins in her last four singles matches played. Coming off a finals run at the John Cade Classic, Zadori secures another singles victory with a hard-fought, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(7) win against Alina Tsyurpalevych. The senior is two away from Ole Miss’ top-30 all-time career singles wins.

The Rebels are right back at it tomorrow morning, starting with doubles at 10 a.m. CT in Auburn.
