Queens Rising, the borough’s dynamic celebration of cultural and creative diversity, returns this June for its fourth annual edition, showcasing the talents and stories that make Queens one of the most diverse communities in the world.
The festival began Sunday, June 1, with a celebratory kickoff at Resorts World New York City. Guests were invited to the Opening Reception of the Queens Rising Visual Arts Exhibit at the Red Wall Gallery, curated by Queens-based artist Arianne M Fernandez. The evening continued with a live music performance by Union Beat at Bar 360 from 6 PM to 9 PM.
Michelle Stoddart, Vice President of Community Development at Resorts World New York City, expressed enthusiasm about the enhanced partnership, stating, “Queens has a long and rich cultural history and we can think of no better way to help support the creatives who call this borough home than by once again working with Queens Rising to shine a light on the amazing work these artists are doing,” Stoddart said. “This celebration helps to establish our borough as a major destination for arts and culture and much like the work we do with our Red Wall Art Gallery, it creates an opportunity to expose the wonderful people who make Queens what it is to a larger audience.”
Throughout June, over 50 Queens-based artists will take part in events across the borough. Among the most anticipated is the return of the Queens Scene Performance Series, presenting local performers at renowned venues like Flushing Town Hall, Alewife Brewing, and Culture Lab LIC.
“Art possesses a universal transformative power to provide solace, inspiration, and connection, during times of uncertainty,” said Arianne M Fernandez, Visual Artist and Queens Rising 2025 Curator. “As a Queens native, it is an honor to curate an exhibit that highlights the resilience of the human spirit and community.”
