LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A woman is facing charges of impersonating a peace officer and resisting arrest after she claimed to be a member of law enforcement while attempting to get inside a downtown Louisville media outlet.

Dejuana R. Fife, 60, of Riverdale, Georgia, was arrested May 31 by Louisville Metro police.

According to the arrest citation, LMPD officers were called to WHAS-TV in the 500 block of W. Chestnut after Fife demanded to be let into the building says that she was with the FBI.

When a LMPD sergeant talked to Fife, she said that she was “Chief of police of the Louisville Metro Police Department” and “Chief of the FBI.” After being told it was a crime to impersonate a peace officer, the citation says Fife continued to make the claims and would not show the officers her law enforcement credentials.

When told she was under arrest, Fife forcibly pulled herself away from officers to prevent being handcuffed. She was eventually taken to the ground and placed in custody.

A bond of $5,000 cash was set during her arraignment on June 2. She was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation and have no contact with WHAS-TV.

Fife will be back in court for a preliminary hearing on June 10.
