Syracuse must be the place for rock legend David Byrne.
Byrne, of the Talking Heads, will stop at the iconic Landmark Theatre on Tuesday, Sept. 23, during his tour of North America. The concert will take place just weeks after the 73-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer releases “Who Is the Sky?”, his first new solo album in seven years.
Tickets for Byrne’s tour will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13, through Ticketmaster.
Syracuse isn’t the only concert Byrne will play in Upstate New York during his “Who Is the Sky?” tour.

Byrne is slated to perform at Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady on Sunday, Sept. 21, and at Shea’s Performing Arts Center in Buffalo on Thursday, Sept. 25, according to the singer’s website.
Byrne first gained fame as the lead singer and guitarist of Talking Heads, a new wave band whose hits include “Psycho Killer,” “Burning Down the House” and “Once in a Lifetime.” He has had an equally successful solo career, collaborating with artists like Selena, Brian Eno and St. Vincent.
Most recently, Byrne hopped on stage with Oliva Rodrigo — performing “Burning Down the House” during Rodrigo’s headlining show at the Governor’s Ball last Saturday.
The singer, songwriter and composer has also won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Grammy Award.
Byrne last rocked Upstate New York during his “American Utopia” tour in 2018, including a show at the Landmark Theatre. It wasn’t his first show in Central New York: The singer played at the downtown Syracuse theater in November 1989.
