Kling honored

UNIVERSITY PARK — Three members of the Penn State baseball squad picked up All-Region honors this week.

Junior pitcher Ryan DeSanto, junior outfielder Paxton Kling and redshirt sophomore designated hitter Jack Porter earned ABCA All-Region East second-team accolades.

Penn State had three All-Region selections in a season for the third time in program history (1973, 2024). It marked the first time PSU had three All-Region selections in back-to-back seasons.

Kling was named to the All-Big Ten first-team and Big Ten All-Defensive team. He also earned Big Ten All-Tournament Team honors.

Kling is also ranked as the No. 143 prospect in the 2025 MLB Draft by MLB Pipeline and the No. 79 college draft prospect in the 2025 MLB Draft by D1Baseball.

Among Big Ten schools, only Indiana (4) and Oregon (4) had more selections. Among Pennsylvania schools, only Penn State and Saint Joseph’s had multiple honorees.
