PLAINFIELD TWP, Mich. — A man was killed and a woman was injured after crashing into a tree in Plainfield Township Saturday.

Michigan State Police said the crash happened around 9:45 p.m. on northbound US-131 between West River and Post Drive.

Troopers said the vehicle ran off the roadway into the median and struck a tree.

The 82-year-old Petoskey man from died at the scene. The 80-year-old female passenger suffered only minor injuries, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash in under investigation.
