CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Columbia women’s tennis team closed out its fall season with a weekend of hidden dual matches at the Harvard Invitational. Columbia played hidden duals with Brown, Harvard and Boston College.
 
First-year Gayathri Kirshnan and senior Julian Haynes had an impressive weekend as they each earned ranked wins. Haynes battled to take a three-set, 4-6, 6-3, 10-4 win over Harvard’s No. 109 Charlotte Owensby on Saturday. Krishnan then earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Boston College’s No. 107 Sophia Edwards on Sunday.
 
The duo Krishnan and Sophia Strugnell went 2-1 for the best doubles performance. Krishnan and Strugnell defeated Brown’s Nora Lee and Vivian Miller, 6-3 Friday. The duo then posted a 6-2 victory against Boston College’s Sophia Edwards and Stephanie Sanchez on Sunday.
 
First-years Salma Farhat and Krishnan, along with Haynes led the team in singles with two wins each for the weekend. Farhat and Krishnan each finished the weekend 2-1 in singles action. Haynes played two singles matches for the weekend and registered wins in both.
 
The Lions capped off a successful fall season at the Harvard Invitational. Columbia will now have a break before the spring season begins.
