Reports say that T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, who was fired from Good Morning America, were busy making plans for a comeback on the big screen.
But ABC is supposedly making it hard for the controversial couple to get back into the mass media.
As a source told The U.S. Sun, the exit deal between the two former ABC employees said that they couldn’t work as news anchors for at least a year.
The source said Robach and Holmes are only “casually” looking for work, despite rumors that they are trying to sell companies on their “chemistry.”
“Even if they had an anchoring offer, they can’t take it because of the wording in their exit contract,” the insider said.
A second insider, however, said that the story was wrong and that the two people did not have to switch jobs because of the deal.
Also, a network source denied that the reporters’ exit packages included a promise not to work for another network.
In other news, Holmes and Robach are in trouble because the delay in their comeback threatens their relationship with their fans.
Eric Schiffer, the head of the Los Angeles-based company Reputation Management Consultants, told The U.S. Sun that the scandalous couple’s long absence from the airwaves could make it harder for people to care about them.
“The longer either is off the air, there is a half-life decay that occurs with broadcast personalities, and you lose your audience’s emotional tie,” the PR guru told the tabloid.
“And your perceived value slowly bleeds out because of that.”
