Pottery Barn recently launched its Fair Trade Shop, which highlights the home decor giant’s commitment to sustainable materials and practices. Since 2014, the brand has offered customers Fair Trade Certified products that support fair wages, safe working conditions, and more eco-friendly sourcing, helping lead the way to a more sustainable future. But that’s not all. In addition to manufacturing more sustainable furniture, Pottery Barn claims it has given $13 Million to Fair Trade Community Development Funds for education, groceries, and healthcare, too.
The Pottery Barn Fair Trade Shop features a collection of the brand’s furniture, bedding, lighting, and decor pieces made from sustainably sourced materials and fair trade practices. Whether you’re redecorating your space or looking for that one piece of furniture to complete your decor, shopping Pottery Barn’s Fair Trade Certified products helps the brand on its mission to contribute an additional $10 Million to Fair Trade Community Development Funds by 2025.
While everything in the Fair Trade Shop features that elevated Pottery Barn touch, it’s the furniture that really stands out the most. From stunning shelving to timeless tables, here are my favorite fair trade furniture pieces from Pottery Barn.

What is fair trade?
This is a tricky one to answer, because there are lots of ‘fair trade’ organisations. There’s the international brand ‘Fairtrade’ (one word), which is a network of farmers around the world who are paid fairly for their produce and are helped to negotiate for better pay and conditions. Their produce meets strict environmental standards. You can tell their produce by the Fairtrade mark, which you’ll find on products like Ben and Jerry’s and Starbucks.
Fair Trade (two words) is an American offshoot of Fairtrade International that operates under similar parameters, ensuring fair pay for its workers. . Pottery Barn’s Fair Trade products are made under these principles.
