3 November 2023

Talented and inspiring artists and arts workers are being recognised for the valuable contribution they make to our performing arts sector at the NT Performing Arts Awards.

The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities announced the 25 individual and performance finalists for the 2023 NT Performing Arts Awards, which recognise the achievements of Territorians on stage, in the classroom, and behind-the-scenes, and celebrate those who make a creative difference to our community.

A violinist who performed with the Darwin Symphony Orchestra, a circus trainer kindling a passion for circus in countless people and communities, and an artistic director of a youth dance company uniting dance with social activism are among those being recognised for their outstanding contributions to performing arts.

With 70 submissions spanning eight categories including outstanding performer, behind the scenes and legend awards, judges had the challenge of selecting the finalists from various fields including dance, music, theatre, opera, circus, and comedy.

Winners will be announced at the NT Performing Arts Awards night on Monday 20 November.

Voting is now open for the People’s Choice Award. Voting closes midnight 14 November 2023.
