The stars of This Morning, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, compete for the Best Television Presenter award. After Phillip quits the show because of rumors of a fight with Holly, they are now in a tough spot because of the nod.
The National Television Awards put them in the same category right in the middle of the crisis that led to Phillip’s firing. Reports say that his co-star of 20 years gave him an ultimatum: either he left the show or she did.
They also say that the two agreed in a private talk, with Phillip leaving on the condition that he would get a solo project and be considered to host and appear on other shows.
Sources say that the fight started long ago when Holly was angry that Phillip didn’t tell her that his brother had been caught on charges of sexual abuse of a child, for which he was just given a twelve-year sentence.
Even though neither got nominated last year, they are up against 48 other people this year.
