A local restaurant chain that features vegetarian fare has declared bankruptcy.

According to an article in The Boston Globe, Clover Food Lab has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, saying that they can’t pay the lease on a new commissary due to the fact that it could not raise enough funds from investors. A WBUR article mentions that the company plans to restructure its operations and finances while also ending the leases on underperforming locations that have above-market rent, and it will also sell off some of its delivery vehicles.

As mentioned in an earlier article here, the Boylston Street outlet of Clover in Boston’s Back Bay closed this summer, while the Globe says the School Street outlet downtown will soon shut down as well.
