Rutgers basketball drops season opener against Princeton as offense sputters


Rutgers basketball’s bounce-back season got off on the wrong foot.

The Scarlet Knights dropped their season-opening meeting with Princeton on Monday, suffering a 68-61 loss at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton in what was the first installment of the historic rivalry in a decade. The Tigers led for just under 30 minutes, including all but 23 seconds of the second half.
