Police: 2 hospitalized, 1 in critical condition after car overturns in Monday night crash


Two men have been hospitalized, one in critical condition, after a serious crash Monday night on State Route 562 according to Cincinnati police.According to police, officers responded to the crash around 10:05 p.m. at milemarker 0.1 on SR 562.Officials say a 34-year-old man was driving a 2004 GMC Yukon west on SR 562, approaching the exit ramp to north I-75, when he lost control of the car, which traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturned and struck a guardrail.Police say the driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to UC Medical Center for treatment. He is now in stable condition.Officials say a passenger, a 44-year-old man sitting in the back seat, also sustained serious injuries and was taken to UC Medical Center. Police say he is in critical condition. Police say neither man was wearing a seatbelt.Authorities say two other passengers were in the vehicle: A 32-year-old woman front-seat passenger, who officials say was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured and a 35-year-old woman backseat passenger who sustained minor injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt.Police say excessive speed and impairment “appear” to be factors in the crash.CPD asks anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact CPD’s Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
