PLAINFIELD, Ind. — A suspect is dead after their car rolled into a pond during a chase with Plainfield police Tuesday afternoon.

The chase started when police tried to stop a driver for a traffic infraction at Ronald Reagan and Main Street. The driver drove off and police went after them.

Officers went into the pond, but could not get the driver out.

Divers recovered the suspect and they were pronounced dead.
