Discussion over Missoula music festival to return Wednesday

The Climate, Conservation and Parks Committee will revisit a proposed agreement that would bring an eight-year summer music festival to Missoula’s Playfair Park in Missoula.

The committee first heard the proposal last month when Scott Osburn with Always On LLC. brought forth his proposal.

Osburn’s presentation raised many questions among council members and a desire to have more information.

“For me personally to agree to sign this agreement, I would like to see more documentation and some sort of agency review process if you will, of the impacts of this on the neighborhood before I could say yes,” said Ward 2 Council member Mirtha Becerra.

Last month, NBC Montana spoke with neighbors who shared mixed feelings over the festival which would bring as many as an estimated 20,000 people to the event.

Osburn declined to comment today. He said he plans to hold off until after tomorrow’s committee meeting before speaking to news outlets.
