The Food & Agriculture Service Learning Program (FASLP) announced 9 awardees that will continue to further the mission of this innovative competitive grant program. The primary goal of the FASLP program is to increase the knowledge of agricultural science and improve the nutritional health of children. The initiative is part of a broader effort to not only increase access to school meals for low-income children, but also to dramatically improve food quality.
This investment, coupled with the previously announced investment toward three FASLP projects with a focus on Food Loss and Waste, made possible through funds under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), total to over a $2.5 million dollar investment for the program in Fiscal Year (FY)23. These projects represent the largest investment made possible through the FASLP program in a single fiscal year.
