Artisan Market bringing ‘something for everyone’

ANDOVER — Local artists making anything from ceramics to sweaters will be selling their treasures at a holiday market this month at Old Town Hall.

The event will be held at 20 Main St., on Friday, Nov. 17, from noon to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pieces will also include watercolor, weaving and jewelry.

“There will be a little of something for everyone,” Ann Ormond, director of business arts and culture, said.

Ormond said the event is part of a larger effort to make Andover stand out as an arts community.

“We had the gas crisis and then we had COVID and the arts almost took a little bit of a back seat because there were pressing things and now we are really ramping up to make arts and culture … a thing that Andover is known for,” Ormond said.

Other events have included art walks and galleries.

“It makes them feel like they have a sense of community,” said Ormond.

The town is hosting the market with the help of the Andover Arts and Cultural Alliance, a nonprofit that helps support and fund art in town.

“This unique, holiday focused artisan event will showcase the level of artistic talent and beautiful art that exists in Andover and in the region,” Leslie Seaton Malis, co-chair of the Andover Arts and Culture Alliance, said.

“I am thrilled that this Artisan Market has been so well received by the artists. We invite the community to come to the market and shop for a unique, creative, handmade piece of art,” added Ormond.

The market will include the following local artists:

  • Susannah Abbott
  • Gail Bedrosian
  • Paulette Dawson
  • Larry Elardo
  • Amy Ferguson
  • Molly Foley
  • Tina S. Gagnon
  • Glenda Gilleran

  • Christianne Tardif Kellerd
  • Catie McCool
  • Elizabeth Nadeau
