BALTIMORE — Anna Blount, Laura Lacambra, Jaden Walker and Carmen Yánez all had career-best performances, as the UMBC Women’s Basketball team outlasted visiting Gettysburg, 90-83, in four overtimes on Wednesday night.
The game was the longest in program history.
Blount, Walker and Yanez all posted double-doubles, while Lacambra recorded career-highs in points (10) and rebounds.
Blount finished with a career-high 29 points and added 11 rebounds, while Walker had 10 points, 13 rebounds and three steals, the latter two being career-bests.
Yánez, fresh off scoring a career-high 12 points at Towson on Monday, nearly had a triple double. The guard had 11 points and added a career high in both rebounds (11) and assists (eight).
Jordon Lewis had four points and a career-high four steals. Jaliena Sanchez also had four steals and added 16 points as well.
The Retrievers ended regulation on a 19-4 run to force overtime.
UMBC continues its homestand when it welcomes Colgate to The Peake on Saturday at 1 p.m.
