Halle Bailey, who plays Ariel in the live-action version of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, went undercover to watch herself on the big screen.

The Little Mermaid was a huge success at the box office, and it drew in many movie fans over the long holiday weekend.

After the movie’s opening, Bailey posted a video on TikTok in which she talked about something that happened to her while she was watching the movie.

She was smart and wore sunglasses and a face mask so fans wouldn’t notice her. The video shows that she was able to buy a bucket of popcorn and sneak into a movie theater right before it started.

In the video, you can see other viewers. One person is taking a selfie in front of a big Little Mermaid display, unaware that Bailey is just walking by.

Bailey says in her TikTok post that she is shocked that The Little Mermaid is the most popular movie in the world. It opened to a huge $185 million worldwide over four days, with more than $117 million coming from theaters in the United States. Good reviews from audiences back up the movie’s success. It got an A from CinemaScore and a 95% rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Before she played Ariel, Halle Bailey did well in the music business with her sister as part of the duo Chloe x Halle. She also tried singing and starred in the TV show Grown-ish with her brother.

Bailey will be in the new musical version of The Color Purple that is coming out soon. But getting to play Ariel has been her dream come true. When she was a young girl, she had aspirations of becoming a Disney Princess, but she never believed it would become a reality.

In an interview with ET, Halle Bailey said, “It feels absolutely amazing to officially be a Disney Princess. I mean, I think that it’s something that we all have just had in our dreams. You have daydreams of pretending to be a Cinderella princess, or someone like that, and you never think that it would actually happen, so I just am really grateful to be in this position.”
