Adidas stopped working with Kanye West at the end of October. Now, some of the leftover Yeezy shoes are back on sale, giving fans a chance to buy their favorite shoes.
Because of his anti-Semitic comments and other actions last year, the German clothing company has officially cut ties with Ye, the rapper who used to be called Kanye West.
In the months that followed, no one knew what would happen to the $1.3 billion worth of unsold Yeezys. However, earlier this month, the CEO of the company, Gulden, announced that the company would sell some of the unsold shoes and give some of the money to social justice groups.
The first group of the last Yeezys to go on sale did so on Wednesday. The company’s app, “Confirmed” seems to be the only way to get the sneakers, according to the store’s website.
Some of the income will be given to groups like the Anti-Defamation League and the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change.
The company has said that the Yeezy goods for sale will include designs that have already been made and those that were started in 2022 but won’t come out until 2023.
