Chad Ochocinco Apologizes to TikTok Foodie Keith Lee After Criticizing His Atlanta Restaurant Reviews: “I’m Team Keith Lee, Too, Now” [Video]

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson has issued a public apology to famous social media food reviewer Keith Lee.

Days ago, the former football star slammed Lee for his recent criticism of restaurants, particularly those that are Black-owned. Despite Lee’s positive approach and urging his fans to try his video subjects for themselves, Johnson felt that Lee was doing more harm than good. This led to Lee making another video confronting Johnson and politely listing the good he has done for businesses. On Monday, Johnson and Shannon Sharpe shared a clip from their recent episode of “Night Cap Show,” where Johnson walked back his comments after doing a bit of research on Lee and getting a lashing from his daughter.

“He’s doing some phenomenal Godd**n work, some beautiful work. Obviously, I apologize, but I’m team Keith Lee, too, now. Matter fact, when he do food reviews, I’m going too,” Johnson told Sharpe.

Johnson then admitted that some restaurant owners reached out to him, acknowledging that Lee criticizing restaurants to millions of followers could hurt their businesses. However, one owner admitted, “We have to be better at doing right by the customer.”

Lee has been the topic of conversation since embarking on a food tour through Atlanta that left the food industry in shambles. While he did encounter several good dining experiences, Lee called out many of the bad practices, such as not allowing takeout orders, poor customer service, and trying to allow him to skip the line despite having hours-long wait times for non-famous customers. Many residents of the city backed Lee’s claims, documenting their own experiences trying to get meals in Atlanta. Now, Johnson sees for himself where Lee was coming from and actually enjoyed the influencer’s clap back at him.

“The muthaf*****g response was so f*****g classy,” Johnson added.
