Stray Kids, a K-pop group, has broken a big sales record. They are the only other group to do so, besides BTS and Seventeen, who are huge worldwide. They put out their third studio album, (5-STAR), on June 2. It has twelve tracks and is their third full-length studio record.

Even before the album came out, they had already made history. They went on to have the most pre-orders of any K-pop group ever. They were the most recent group to reach 5.13 million pre-sales.

Hanteo says that they went on to sell about 2,392,666 copies of their record on the first day it came out. So far, only the groups BTS and Seventeen have done this. Seventeen just did it with their record FML, which sold 400 million copies.

The rest of (5-STAR)’s first week is still left, so it’s still not clear where it will rank among the best-selling K-pop records in the business.

It is definitely a new high for the group, as they sold 2.1 million copies in the first week, which is much more than their last record, Maxident.
