KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men’s tennis team and head coach Dave Morin are excited to announce the signing of five student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, with four joining the Broncos for the 2024-25 season and one coming in January of 2024.
Alex Antonopoulos (Carmel, Ind./North Central HS), Oscar Corwin (Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield East HS), Jack Davison (Vancouver, B.C./Rockridge Secondary) and Solomon Dunsirn (Neehan, Wis./Neehan HS) will join the Broncos for the 2024-25 season. Adrian Quiros (San Jose, Costa Rica/The British School of Costa Rica) is joining Western Michigan in January and will compete in the second half of the 2023-24 season.
“Our assistant coach, Stephen Payne, and I spent a lot of time this past summer and fall putting together a recruiting class that we believe will have an immediate impact on our program and for years to come,” said Morin. “We believe that all five of these student-athletes have the character, inner drive, athleticism and size to fit right in and help elevate our team’s championship aspirations. Although they had their share of success on the junior tennis circuit with state and national titles, we believe that their best days lie ahead of them and we are super excited to welcome them to the Bronco Athletics family!”
Antonopoulos won the Indiana Individual State Championship in 2023 and was runner-up in 2021. He helped his high school to an Indiana Team State Championship in 2022 and runner-up in 2020. Davison ranks 17th in Canada and was the 2023 British Columbia Provincial Singles Champion. He’s reached two International Tennis Federation finals in singles and won four ITF Doubles titles. Davison is also ranked 631st by the ITF.
Dunsirn was a WIAA Division I Boys State Singles Champion in 2022, losing just 11 total games in the entire tournament.
