* Coach Holtmann Comments: “Juni is one of the very best shooters in this class. He is as good a shooter as we have added since we’ve been here. He is dynamic shooting the ball. He is maybe the best kid at his age shooting threes off the bounce. He can really shoot the ball and score the ball. His size doesn’t limit him because he’s got great range. He is a fantastic offensive player.
“He can play either of the guard spots and, as people have seen over the summer, he has the ability to change a game quickly. We’re excited to see him continue to grow this year.”
Holtmann was asked about Mobley’s move to Wasatch Academy, where he will play against the best prep schools in the country.
“It certainly helps him,” Holtmann said. “When you’re a kid like most of our guys are, they are the best player on their team in high school. When they play in their state at their high school, they are typically one of the best players. There is value in that. Devin (Royal) played on a great team and won a state championship and got to the state finals.
“The value in going to play against the kind of competition Juni will play is, one, they are really well coached. Two, you play with other good players. You understand when you get to college you’re going to play with other good players. You have to figure out how your strengths can add value to the team.”
