In an unprecedented gesture of approval, Taylor Swift’s longtime friend, Abigail Anderson, expressed her support for the pop sensation’s budding romance with Travis Kelce.
The 33-year-old Anderson subtly signaled her endorsement by “liking” an Instagram post by E! News that featured Kelce in the audience during Swift’s performance in Argentina.
The post highlighted Kelce’s reaction to Swift playfully altering the lyrics of her song “Karma” to mention “the guy on the Chiefs,” a reference to the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, instead of her ex Joe Alwyn.
The caption also acknowledged Swift’s father, Scott Swift, who sported a Kansas City Chiefs lanyard in support of Kelce’s team.
Swift and Anderson, BFFs since high school
Swifties took notice of Anderson’s understated but significant approval, with fans expressing appreciation for her positive stance on the relationship.
Anderson, a friend of Swift since high school, has been a behind-the-scenes figure in the singer’s life, making a cameo in Swift’s song “Fifteen” with the line, “Abigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed his mind, and we both cried.”
