A breakfast-and-lunch chain could be opening a new restaurant on East Nine Mile Road


A new sit-down breakfast and lunch restaurant could be coming soon to East Nine Mile Road, according to the project’s filings with Escambia County.

The name of the restaurant has not been shared yet, but the chain has 60 locations across the U.S., according to the project’s developers in an email accompanying their first application.

The project’s developers initially applied for approval from Escambia County’s Development Review Committee in late May and had a different location on East Nine Mile Road planned for the new restaurant.

The developers of the restaurant applied to the Development Review Committee again on Oct. 11 for approval of the project with a new location. The Development Review Committee discussed the updated project during pre-application meetings on Nov. 1 and its approval is still under review.

What to expect from the new breakfast restaurant project

The project’s developers intend to build a 5,217-square-foot building for the sit-down restaurant with an accompanying 525-square-foot patio, according to the project’s latest site plan filed with Escambia County.

The developers plan to create 87 parking spaces for the restaurant and two access roads; One access road will be for East Nine Mile Road and the other will be for Copter Road, according to the project’s latest site plan filed with Escambia County.

The site of the potential restaurant is more than 2 acres and is mostly undeveloped, aside from one old residence that needs to be removed.

The project’s developers listed three addresses for the possible new restaurant; There is one address for each of the three parcels lining either Copter Road or East Nine Mile Road that the developers plan to use for the project.

The three listed addresses are: 2375 E. Nine Mile Road, 2316 Copter Road and 2322 Copter Road.

Who owns the potential breakfast restaurant?

Vaquero Ventures are the listed developer for the potential new breakfast restaurant in the project’s site plan filed with Escambia County.

Vaquero Ventures is a commercial real estate firm and they are based in Forth Worth, Texas, according to their filings with Escambia County.
