Power through a work-from-anywhere lifestyle with the LG gram

“The right tool for the right job” is an old adage that is still perfectly valid in this day and age. In fact, it’s probably more apt now than ever before. As digital nomads, entrepreneurs, and other busy professionals embrace a flexible but hustling-bustling, work-from-anywhere lifestyle, they need lightweight and robust computing power.

The 2023 additions to the LG gram family of laptops are more powerful than their predecessors, but they still share all the same traits that defined earlier generations: compact design, ultra-light weight, super-long battery life, and a ruggedness that belies their polished and professional appearance.

The full line-up of 14-inch (14Z90R), 15-inch (15Z90R), 16-inch (16Z90R) and 17-inch (17Z90R) LG gram 2023 models have all earned the MIL-STD-810H military durability test certification*, which is a United States Military Standard issued by the Department of Defense ensuring that products will be able to perform under a broad range of environmental conditions and stresses.

Physical toughness is one thing, but road warriors need digital-security toughness as well. All of the LG gram laptops incorporate an AI-powered smart security system called LG Glance by Mirametrix®. Among its capabilities are engaging a self-locking system that automatically triggers when the laptop detects it is not in use. The same system sends out an alert in the event of unusual circumstances, such as the laptop being lost or stolen. LG Glance by Mirametrix® blurs the screen when the user looks away. It also detects when somebody is watching over the user’s shoulder, shows an on-screen warning about the possible security threat and blurs the screen to prevent privacy breaches.

The high-resolution 16:10 aspect ratio on the LG gram laptops means 11 per cent more screen real estate versus comparable-sized laptops featuring a 16:9 ratio for on-the-go professionals. Both the 16-inch and 17-inch models come with a 400 nit anti-glare IPS display and both sizes feature a variable refresh rate ranging from 31Hz to 144Hz. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB drives both the 16-inch and 17-inch model.

Besides NVIDIA, there’s another major name under the hood of all of the LG gram models: Intel. The lineup is powered by the LPDDR5 6000 MHz RAM—a brawny 13th Gen Intel Core processor.

And speaking of power, the LG gram battery is designed to keep the laptop — and its owner — working until the job is done. That means up to 80Wh of battery life on the 16- and 17-inch models and 72Wh on the 14-inch model.

As any mobile professional knows, a laptop is just part of the equation—a major one for sure—but it’s far from the only tool needed to keep on top of bustling business demands. That’s why, for the first time, the LG gram integrates Intel Unison to allow seamless harmonization with Android or iOS smartphones. This means users can receive notifications, like phone calls or messages, from synced devices on their laptops. Additionally, LG gram laptops support Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI connectivity, making them truly portable business hubs for connected professionals.

For those professionals who spend hours in front of the keyboard and would like to take a step further in their productivity, part of the LG gram lineup is a portable external screen. The LG gram +view portable monitor weighs just 670 grams (990 grams with its folio), can be used in either a horizontal or vertical orientation, and links to any LG gram laptop via USB Type-C connectivity. With a IPS LED display, the +view monitor features a 350 nit WQXGA 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

LG grams start at $1,749.99. To learn more and to purchase, check out lg.ca
