Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
Over the one and a half seasons of Celebrity Jeopardy, one of the biggest “complaints” (I put complaints in quotation marks because I don’t think it’s particularly valid) is that some of the diehard fans that watch the regular show day in and day out aren’t as familiar with the celebrity players in primetime. And I think tonight’s casting is proof that “not being familiar with these players would be the fault of the viewer’s lack of pop culture knowledge, and not the fault of the show”. Tonight’s players are Becky Lynch (one of the WWE’s most recognizable current superstars), Rachel Dratch (who portrayed one of Saturday Night Live‘s most famous characters ever in Debbie Downer), and Macaulay Culkin (who has been internationally recognized for over 30 years, having starred as Kevin McCallister in the Home Alone films).
How will any of our players tonight play? I have no idea. The primetime Celebrity Jeopardy format lets our players be themselves; there’s extra time for goofing off, and we still get to see our full complement of clues.
One thing I’ve also very much been enjoying is the increased number of “behind-the-scenes” photos over on ABC’s press site. To me, the more photos, the better!
