Another Mass. native advances to semifinals on ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’


Massachusetts is living up to its reputation of being the most educated state as another celebrity Bay State native advanced as a semifinalist in “Celebrity Jeopardy!”

Rachel Dratch, an actress and comedian originally from Lexington, took the leap over fellow celebrity contestants during Wednesday’s game. She played the trivia game alongside celebrities Becky Lynch and Macaulay Culkin.

During Wednesday’s episode, Dratch earned four correct answers, giving her a total of $1,500 before the first commercial break.

After the first round of questions, Dratch entered the Double Jeopardy! round with 10 questions answered correctly, upping her score to $3,400.

After Triple Jeopardy!, her stats for the game came in as 35 correct questions answered and one incorrect. She had a total earnings score of $23,000 before heading into the final clue, well above her competitors’ scores.

All three contestants correctly guessed the final clue. In the end, Dratch finished with the most money, beating Culkin by just $1.

Dratch is playing for City Harvest, as contestants’ winnings in the tournaments are donated to a charity of their choice.

More quarterfinalist games will take place before the schedule for the semifinals is announced. But Dratch will be competing alongside other semifinalist celebrity players Dulé Hill, Mira Sorvino, Steven Weber, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Lisa Ann Walter and Katie Nolan.

Nolan was the first Mass. native to move on to the semifinal rounds. She is a sports comedy host originally from Framingham, playing for the Association for Women in Sports Media.
