One year ago, Nevada’s own dinosaur, Nevadadromeus, received its official name and description, entering the specimen into the annals of paleontology. In recognition of this incredible discovery, the Nevada State Museum and the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada in Carson City will be hosting special events this week commemorating the first anniversary of Nevadadromeus, the first official dinosaur discovered in the Silver State.

Sierra Arts Foundation to host Holiday Music and Art Festival at Carson City’s Silver Saddle Ranch

Sierra Arts Foundation, a nonprofit that advocates for arts and the artists that create it within a 200 mile radius of the Reno, Sparks region, is hosting the first Holiday Music and Art Festival in partnership with the Carson City Parks and Recreation department at Silver Saddle Ranch on Nov. 18. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free to the public. It will feature artists, vendors, musicians and other nonprofit groups in advance of the holiday season.

CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 5 to 6:30 p.m. with an artist introduction at 5:30 p.m. The Community Center is located at 851 E William Street, Carson City. The Crowell Board Room is open for all the city’s public meetings and upon request.
