The TV Academy and Fox Have Postponed the ‘Emmys’ as the Writers Strike Continues

The strike by the Writers Guild of America has given the Television Academy a lot to think about as they prepare for the Emmys.

Academy members who are qualified to vote have been working hard on the nomination round for almost a week. However, because of the ongoing labor dispute, it’s not clear if the future winners will be able to get their coveted trophies.

There are less than three months left until the ceremony and live broadcast on September 18. Sources say that managers are already talking about different backup plans. If the labor problems in the business continue through the summer, one possible solution is to move the event to a later date.

This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, since the Emmys pay special attention to writers in the entertainment business.
