A national retailer with an existing presence in Rockford will open its new location at the State Street Market shopping complex this week.
Burlington Coat Factory will open at 9 a.m., Friday, Nov. 17, at. 6380 E. State St., a space most recently occupied by Dick’s Sporting Goods before it moved to the Forrest City Plaza in 2021.
Burlington was previously at 6260 E. State St., just a few doors down from its new home. The store will occupy 26,946-square feet of the old Dick’s space. Joann Fabrics is now open next door in the remaining 28,883 square-feet.

Is there be a grand opening?
Yes. The store’s grand opening will be this weekend, Nov. 17-19. The first 100 customers 18 and older will receive a $10 gift card. Free umbrellas will also be given out while supplies last. No purchase necessary. Burlington, through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, will also be donating $5,000 to a local school as part of the chain’s longstanding commitment to education.
Will the new store carry the same merchandise?
Burlington Coat Factory will continue to carry brand-name menswear, ladieswear, shoes, home décor merchandise, kids clothing, baby accessories, pet products and toys. Items are up to 60% off of everyday prices.
What are the hours?
Hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
Is Burlington Coat Factory hiring?
