YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team has signed Dillon Tingler (Huntington, W. Va./Huntington Expression Prep) as part of its 2024 recruiting class as announced by Head Coach Stan Heath, Friday, Nov. 17.
“We’re really excited about Dillon. He’s a perfect fit,” Heath said. “He’s kind of that three-and-D guy but also able to score at multiple levels. He’s a really high-level three-point shooter. He’s athletic and he can defend. I think he’s got a fantastic future in front of him so we’re so excited to have him. He’s also a quality student and a quality person.”
“I felt like I could see myself at Eastern Michigan for four years after being on the official visit and connecting with the coaching staff,” Tingler said. The relationships with the coaches were the best of the choices I had and I really connected with them. Coach Heath’s offense really suits my game. His background is impressive and I feel like because of his background and knowledge, I can put my trust in him to help me get me where I want to go.”
Tingler is rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals and 247Sports and received interest from Akron University, the University of Pennsylvania, Miami University, Ohio University, Towson University, Illinois State University, Southern Illinois University, and Marshall University.
247Sports lists Tingler as the second-ranked player coming out of West Virginia and 235-ranked player nationally.
Tingler comes from the prestigious Huntington Expression Prep, which has produced Andrew Wiggins, Thomas Bryant, and Miles Bridges, among other NBA players.

HIGH SCHOOL: Currently attends perennial high school basketball power Huntington Expression Prep in Huntington, W. Va, playing under Head Coach Arkell Bruce….Team knocked off traditional powers La Lumiere (Ind.), Oak Hill (Va.), and IMG Academy (Fla.) in 2022-23 season…Played AAU ball with Wildcat Select under Head Coach Shane Phillips.
