Increasing tax collection leads to more projects, investment in travel and tourism in Sheridan County


SHERIDAN — Wyoming is collecting record amounts of sales and use tax money, in part due to inflation.

According to Wyoming Economic Analysis Division statistics, Wyoming collected an additional approximately $161.6 million more in sales and use tax in fiscal year (FY) 2023 than FY2022, an increase of about 14.1%. In total, the state collected more than $1.238 billion in sales and use taxes.
