A 2011 Chevrolet was driving west on East Wendover Avenue, just west of Willard Street, and hit a deer that had entered the roadway.Click the video player above to watch the latest headlines from WXII 12 News.After the collision, the driver of the Chevrolet returned to the location and stopped in the far right westbound lane of East Wendover, across from the deer. The passenger, identified as Wanda McCollum, 55, was transported by EMS to Moses Cones Hospital, where she died from her injuries. On Friday morning, around 6:45 a.m., Greensboro officers responded to East Wendover Avenue at Willard Street in relation to a car accident involving injuries. A 2011 Chevrolet was driving west on East Wendover Avenue, just west of Willard Street, and hit a deer that had entered the roadway.

After the collision, the driver of the Chevrolet returned to the location and stopped in the far right westbound lane of East Wendover, across from the deer. The passenger of the Chevrolet got out of the car and walked across the westbound travel lanes of East Wendover Ave towards the deer.

A 2013 Kia was traveling west on East Wendover Ave in the far left lane and collided with a passenger in the roadway. The passenger, identified as Wanda McCollum, 55, was transported by EMS to Moses Cones Hospital, where she died from her injuries. The driver of the Kia stayed at the scene.
