SC to get its first HomeSense department store

HILTON HEAD ISLAND — A new home goods department store is set to anchor Sea Turtle Marketplace in 2024.

HomeSense has leased a 29,530-square-foot space within the shopping center on William Hilton Parkway. The spot will be the first South Carolina location for the TJX brand home furnishings and decor retailer, which has more than 50 locations in 12 states.

Sea Turtle Marketplace was purchased by Greenberg Gibbons in October 2022 for $17.5 million. The 99,580-square-foot community retail center is currently anchored by Golf Galaxy and West Marine, a boating supply store. Greenberg Gibbons is exploring development opportunities for a 2.81-acre parcel on site.

Popular Hilton Head pizzeria closes unexpectedly

“We are thrilled to bring the first HomeSense to South Carolina at Sea Turtle Marketplace,” said Tracey Holehan, senior vice president and director of leasing for Greenberg Gibbons. “The popular home store will complement the expanding mix of retailers that we know the community will enjoy.”

The HomeSense store will be located next to West Marine on the west end of the shopping center. An official opening date hasn’t yet been set, though Greenberg Gibbons expects the store to open sometime in spring 2024.
