The 116th Los Angeles Auto Show opens today at the Los Angeles Convention Center, for a 10-day run. The event features a new track for electric vehicles, more than a thousand vehicles on display, and the inaugural USA Street Food Awards.
As Reported by FOX LA, starting today, Friday Nov 17th, participants can look forward to daily test drives on Electric Avenue from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with vehicles from manufacturers like Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, Kia, Lucid, Polestar, Porsche, and Volvo. Motorcycle riders will be able to test ride Verge TS motorcycles on a track around the Convention Center’s South Hall.
Adding to the experience, Camp Jeep, Ford, Hyundai, Nissan, and Volkswagen have set up indoor ride-along tracks. Ford’s Adventure Track will take attendees on an inside-out journey that starts inside the exhibit and leads outdoors.
The Electrification Discovery Center will make its first appearance at the show this year. Here, visitors can learn about driving characteristics and charging options, and purchase incentives for EVs and hybrids. According to NBC Los Angeles, bilingual helpers will be available to guide attendees, and author Matt DeLorenzo will host weekend sessions discussing “How to Buy an Affordable Electric Car: A Tightwad’s Guide to EV Ownership.”
Among the more than 1,000 vehicles at the Convention Center, attendees will see the global debuts of the Lucid Gravity electric SUV, and the brand-new 2025 Subaru Forester compact SUV. North American debuts from Acura, Hyundai, and Kia are also included among the event’s highlights.
In addition to automotive offerings, the show will feature entertainment-themed attractions. As noted by FOX LA, displays include six classic cars-turned eco-friendly vehicles from the Max series “Downey’s Dream Cars,” cars from the “Fast & Furious” franchise, and 10 vehicles from the “Kevin Hart Kollection.”
The first part of the USA Street Food Awards will take place at the LA Auto Show on Friday and Saturday. Showcasing LA’s top food trucks, the competition will then travel across the country for city heats, culminating in the USA Street Foods Champion Cook-off in LA in November 2024.
NBC Los Angeles reports, all tickets must be purchased online through the LA Auto Show’s website, as there will be no onsite ticket sales. There are a variety of ticket options at different price points, with special discounts offered for seniors and children. The program promises a sensational showcasing of the future of automotive technology.
