Sharjah24: With the aim of exchanging experiences and fostering collaboration in the field of astronomy and space technology for the benefit of society, the University of Sharjah (UOS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirates Astronomical Society. The agreement was signed on behalf of the University by its chancellor, His Excellency, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, and on behalf of the society by His Excellency Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomical Society. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellency Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, alongside numerous scholars, researchers and participants of the 14th Arabic Conference of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, as well as administrative and faculty members from the University of Sharjah and the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology (SAASST).
The MoU stipulates that the joint cooperation between the University of Sharjah and the Emirates Astronomical Society will focus on establishing joint scientific programs and activities in the field of space and astronomy. It also emphasizes cooperation in conducting scientific research, studies, and astronomical observation, organizing joint events to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and developing educational and cultural materials in areas of mutual interest.
