Vintage fashion talk

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse Area Historical Society is presenting on local vintage fashion at 2 p.m. Sunday at Traverse Area District Library.

Winery event

SUTTONS BAY — Mawby Sparkling Wine is hosting a storytelling event at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Bay Community Theater.

Hear from founder Larry Mawby and owners Mike and Peter Laing on the past and future of the local winery. Tickets are $29 and include popcorn and a glass of wine.

SUTTONS BAY — Gilchrist Farm Winery is offering a lunch menu.

The takeout menu will rotate items seasonally and is available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Order online or call 231-916-3902.

Holiday meal

TRAVERSE CITY — A Thanksgiving Community Meal will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Salvation Army Community Center. Dine in or takeout.

Light Up Cedar

CEDAR — Light Up Cedar will occur from 4-8 p.m. Nov. 24.

Activities include visits with Santa, reindeer, train rides, crafts, a DJ, bonfire and a scavenger hunt. Sponsored by Cedar Chamber of Commerce.

Pizza and Pipes

WILLIAMSBURG — The Pizza and Pipes event will begin at 6 p.m. Nov. 24 at The Music House Museum.

Red Wings Organist Dave Calendine will perform, and pizza is served. Admission is $30 for adults and $15 for kids younger than 10. Purchase through MyNorthTickets.com or call the box office: 231-938-9300.

Holiday event

GLEN ARBOR — The Tree Lighting and Caroling and Holiday Market Preview will go from 6:15-8 p.m. Nov. 24 at Glen Arbor Township Hall.

The Glen Arbor Artisan Marketplace is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 25. Families and kids can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the M22 Wine Patio.

Arts fair

FRANKFORT — The annual Holly Berry Art and Crafts Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 25 at Frankfort High School.

The local softball team is selling wreaths for their annual fundraiser, and Frankfort Cheerleaders will provide lunch. Kids can join a dancing and crafting area from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Carriage rides are also available.

Holiday event

ALDEN — Downtown Alden Business Association’s Christmas Celebration will go from 3-8 p.m. Nov. 25.

Gather outside between Nifty Things and Paradise Properties starting at 5 p.m. Then, see the tree lighting and Santa’s arrival on a fire truck. Hot cocoa and cookies are served. Bring a canned food item or monetary donation for a local food pantry.

Gardening course

EAST LANSING — The MSU Extension is offering the Foundations of Gardening on Thursday nights from Feb. 1 through April 11.

This online course includes live lectures and self-paced sessions. It is a prerequisite to becoming an MSU Extension Master Gardener.

Whiskey workshop

ELK RAPIDS — A whiskey blending pop-up will be at The DAM Shop from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 13.
