New chief financial officer for foundation

The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania recently appointed Steven M. Simms as chief financial officer.

Simms joins the foundation with over two decades of accounting and finance experience. He most recently served as the comptroller and business operations manager at Lycoming County Resource Management Services. He has worked in a variety of sectors and specializes in financial presentation, budgeting, and forecasting. Steve is a graduate of Susquehanna University and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

“Steve’s background and passion for community are well aligned with the overarching goals of FCFP,” said Jennifer D. Wilson, president and CEO, according to a news release. “We are excited for him to join our team and look forward to working together to achieve the Foundation’s vision of creating powerful communities through passionate giving.”

As chief financial officer, Simms will have oversight of the financial, accounting, and investment activities of the Foundation. In addition, he will be responsible for human resource management, benefits administration, and risk management. He will also oversee the operations of the foundation’s Philanthropy Center and Rider Park. Simms will work closely with the foundation’s auditing firm and outsourced chief investment officer safeguarding the foundation’s $135 million in assets.
